JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking an experienced Team Lead, Software Engineering to provide hands-on technical leadership for a team of Software Engineers. The Team Lead will typically lead 3–5 engineers and will be responsible for technical direction, mentoring, solution design, engineering quality, application security, production readiness, and operational support.

This role requires strong software engineering expertise and ownership across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), from requirements analysis and solution design through development, testing, implementation, production support, and ongoing application lifecycle management. The Team Lead will champion AI-enabled SDLC practices and responsible use of approved AI-assisted engineering capabilities.

CUSTOMER

· Provide hands-on senior technical consultancy across the SDLC for complex application, integration, API, data, infrastructure, and production issues.

· Partner with architecture, security, infrastructure, platform, DevOps, quality engineering, product, business, and operations stakeholders to deliver solutions and coordinate implementation.

· Lead solution design for new capabilities, enhancements, modernization, integrations, and technical remediation, translating requirements into pragmatic, scalable, secure, resilient, and supportable solutions.

· Document designs using required templates, covering development, testing, implementation, operational readiness, and support; maintain accurate architecture, API, integration, data-flow, infrastructure, and business-logic documentation.

· Lead technical design reviews and ensure actions, risks, assumptions, dependencies, and decisions are documented and addressed.

· Guide high-priority incident response and coordinate technical teams through investigation, debugging, root-cause analysis, and sustainable corrective actions.

· Incorporate incident lessons into engineering, testing, monitoring, and design practices; promote effective logging, observability, resiliency, and operational readiness.

· Lead application releases and production implementations, ensuring the System Implementation Plan (SIP) and Master Execution Steps (MES) are accurate, complete, reviewed, approved, and current for each applicable release.

· Validate implementation steps, dependencies, sequencing, verification activities, rollback plans, and production-readiness requirements before release.

· Provide technical leadership during implementation and post-implementation verification, ensuring deployment issues are resolved.

SHAREHOLDER

· Review Pull Requests for code quality, maintainability, security, performance, test coverage, and adherence to engineering standards.

· Ensure team practices and applications comply with industry and TD software development, SDLC, architecture, security, data, operational-risk, and engineering requirements.

· Champion disciplined coding, testing, documentation, deployment, and support practices using reusable, resilient, scalable, observable, secure, maintainable, and testable patterns.

· Drive effective source control, CI/CD, automated testing, code-quality tooling, and vulnerability scanning; continuously improve automation, quality, security, resiliency, observability, reuse, and deployment.

· Oversee application health and keep applications, frameworks, libraries, platforms, and dependencies current and supported; identify technical debt and establish practical remediation strategies.

· Identify, prioritize, track, and remediate security vulnerabilities and technology obsolescence; address applicable Archer findings and technology risks within committed timelines.

· Ensure data backup, recovery, and Disaster Recovery testing is completed, evidence is maintained, and findings and remediation actions are tracked to closure.

· Escalate material application, security, operational, resiliency, and technology risks; maintain technical documentation and evidence for governance, risk, control, and audit activities.

· Ensure AI-generated code and technical artifacts are reviewed and comply with applicable security, architecture, privacy, quality, and software development standards.

· Identify AI opportunities to reduce repetitive effort, accelerate modernization, strengthen testing, and improve engineering consistency.

EMPLOYEE/TEAM

· Lead the technical delivery and day-to-day engineering activities of a team of 3–5 Software Engineers.

· Mentor and coach engineers, strengthening technical capability, engineering discipline, problem-solving skills, and team effectiveness.

· Serve as a technical escalation point and promote knowledge sharing, cross-training, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

· Lead adoption of approved AI-assisted capabilities across requirements analysis, solution design, development, code review, testing, documentation, troubleshooting, and modernization.

· Use tools such as GitHub Copilot, where approved, to improve delivery productivity, engineering quality, documentation, and developer experience.

· Mentor engineers on effective AI-assisted development while maintaining sound engineering judgment, appropriate human oversight, and accountability.
