This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Lead Site Reliability Engineer based in India.
The Lead Site Reliability Engineer will drive the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of modern cloud infrastructure and application delivery. In this hands-on technical role, you will design and improve automated infrastructure and deployment processes across Azure and AWS environments. You will leverage Terraform, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and GitOps to build secure, resilient, and highly available systems. Working with development and operations teams, you will promote engineering best practices and streamline software delivery. The position offers the opportunity to develop automation tools, improve operational performance, and contribute to technical solutions across complex projects. Based in Bangalore, this is a hybrid role with a collaborative team environment and working hours from 1 PM to 10 PM IST.
Accountabilities
*
Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform to enable consistent, efficient, and scalable infrastructure provisioning.
*
Design, develop, and enhance CI/CD pipelines to automate software delivery, testing, and deployment processes.
*
Leverage Azure cloud services to build, operate, and maintain secure, resilient, and highly available cloud infrastructure.
*
Design, implement, and manage Kubernetes-based solutions for container orchestration and application operations.
*
Use GitHub for version control, code collaboration, and effective team workflows.
*
Implement and optimize GitOps practices to streamline deployment and infrastructure management.
*
Automate and improve operational processes to increase efficiency, reliability, and consistency.
*
Develop custom tools and scripts, using Go or other programming languages, to address operational challenges and enhance automation.
*
Support monitoring, logging, and alerting practices to maintain system performance and reliability.
*
Collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot issues, solve complex technical problems, and continuously improve infrastructure and deployment practices.
*
Contribute to technical design and implementation for medium- to large-scale projects.
REQUIREMENTS:
*
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
*
At least 8 years of progressively responsible programming experience using a standard coding language or platform.
*
Experience working with modern cloud environments, particularly Azure and AWS.
*
Strong knowledge of Git and version control practices.
*
Solid experience automating and optimizing operational processes.
*
Ability to develop custom tools and scripts to improve automation and engineering efficiency; experience with Go is valuable, while experience in other programming languages is also relevant.
*
Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools.
*
Strong problem-solving skills and an interest in innovation and continuous improvement.
*
Ability to work independently, proactively, and responsibly, with a solution-oriented approach and a strong understanding of technical challenges.
*
Collaborative working style and the ability to contribute effectively within cross-functional teams.
*
Very good spoken and written English communication skills.
*
Experience writing detailed program designs for medium- to large-scale projects is preferred.
*
Hands-on experience with Terraform, Kubernetes (including EKS), AWS, Azure, GitHub, CI/CD, GitOps, and Infrastructure as Code is strongly preferred.
*
Good understanding of .NET, PowerShell, and Node.js application development, build, and deployment processes is an advantage.
