Technical Program Manager III, Change Governance, Google Data Centers

A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.
The Central Operations Team manages global infrastructure programs and standards across the data center fleet. The team is focused on: Supporting field operations. Operational support for execution (e.g., Incident Management, Fleet Deployment, Spares, and Maintenance Planning). Business support (e.g., Operational Assessments, Data Quality, Business Process support). New product introductions into the fleet. Driving long term strategic programs to transform the business.

In your role as the Data Center Change Governance Program Manager, you will own, drive, and improve upon the global program by which Google’s Data Center fleet submits, evaluates, reviews, and makes decisions. The process is built upon a strong culture of respect, empowerment, data, and speed. You will engage in the process daily to ensure its running smoothly, support high priority decisions, illuminate gaps, and drive process improvements.

You will also leverage your skills to help facilitate complex global decisions by breaking them down into smaller pieces. Lastly, you’ll actively work to ensure the program evolves with time, adapts to changes in business direction, and scales with future growth.

The Data Center team designs and operates some of the most sophisticated electrical and HVAC systems in the world. We are an upbeat, creative, team-oriented group of engineers committed to building and operating powerful data centers.
